Face Lift

BEFORE AFTER

As people grow older, the skin of the face begins to wrinkle and sag, with the help of gravity and time. Exposure to the sun, genetic influences and other factors can contribute to the effects of aging. A facelift can correct these conditions and give people a more youthful appearance. This procedure involves the tightening of facial and neck skin and muscles, as well as the removal of excess skin.  Facelift incisions are placed in areas where they are minimally visible. The objective is to elevate the underlying structures and redrape the skin on the face in order to give a more youthful, healthy and rested appearance.

The surgery is performed on an outpatient basis, although some of our patients prefer to take advantage of the extended stay unit. The discomfort associated with a facelift is usually minimal to moderate. Bruising and swelling are expected, but this will resolve in ten days to two weeks following the surgery. As with any plastic surgery procedure, the healing process with a facelift is gradual and final results may not be apparent for several weeks, but the benefits from the surgery will last for years.

Brow Lift

BEFORE AFTER

A forehead lift or "browlift" is used to correct a drooping browline (eyebrow area) reducing the horizontal lines and furrows (worry lines) that often make a person appear angry, sad or tired.  The procedure creates a refreshed, youthful appearance to the forehead area above the eyes.

When performing a forehead lift procedure, muscles and tissue areas that droop or cause creases are removed or corrected to smooth the skin on the forehead to reduce frown lines and raise the eyebrows.  There are two surgical methods, and during your initial consultation the procedure that works best for you will be recommended.  The first is the most conventional method where a surgical incision is hidden just above the hairline.  Browlifts are also performed using an endoscope which enables the procedure to be performed with a minimal number of incisions.  While the traditional method can sometimes attain more lift, both methods create smoother, flatter skin on the forehead.

Blepharoplasty

BEFORE AFTER

Blepharoplasty, or eyelid tucks, are very common in patients over 40. This is a procedure to remove fat, along with excess skin, from the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery can correct drooping upper lids and the puffy bags under the eyes - features that make you look older and more tired than you feel. The effect is to give the eyes a more rested, youthful look with a brighter appearance.

Blepharoplasty can be performed on the upper lids, lower lids or both and can also be performed in conjunction with other facial procedures. The patient on the right has had a laser blepharoplasty which is a procedure using a laser to resurface and tighten the skin of the upper and lower eyelids. The incision to remove fat is placed inside the lid to minimize scarring and post-operative lid droop

For more information about Blepharoplasty, please visit the American Society of Plastic Surgery site, by clicking on  this link.

The typical cost for upper lid blepharoplasty is $3000. Lower lids are more difficult and take longer to perform. The cost averages $3750. A full lid procedure will average $5000 - $5500.

Laser Resurfacing is a series of intense Pulsed Light treatments that improve the appearance of rosacea, flushing, sun damaged skin, and skin texture.  Treatment also improves mild acne scars, corrects dark circles around the eyes, reduces large pores, fine lines, and stimulates deep tissue collagen remodeling.  The example on the right demonstrates the dramatic decrease in wrinkling around the mouth that can be achieved with laser resurfacing.

Typical cost for a full face laser resurfacing is $3000 - $3500

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is performed to change the appearance of the nose to be more aesthetic and pleasing. Sometimes the hump is removed, usually the nose is thinned out at the tip and slightly elevated. It is usually necessary to narrow the nose at the time of surgery.

A splint and packing are removed by the 7th day and most people are presentable in approximately a week to 10 days. If you have difficulty breathing, your insurance may pay for a portion of the procedure.

For more information about Rhinoplasty, please visit the American Society of Plastic Surgery site, by clicking on  this link.

Typical cost for rhinoplasty varies with the type of surgery performed, but averages $3500 - $5500.

Non-Surgical Enhancement

BOTOX® Injections

The cosmetic form of botulinum toxin, often referred to by its product name BOTOX®, is a popular non-surgical injection that temporarily reduces or eliminates frown lines, forehead creases, crows feet near the eyes and thick bands in the neck. The toxin blocks the nerve impulses, temporarily paralyzing the muscles that cause wrinkles while giving the skin a smoother, more refreshed appearance. Studies have also suggested that BOTOX® is effective in relieving migraine headaches, excessive sweating and muscle spasms in the neck and eyes.

F
at Injections

In the medical world, the fat-injection procedure is known as autologous fat transplantation or microlipoinjection. It involves extracting fat cells from the patient's abdomen, thighs, buttocks or elsewhere and reinjecting them beneath the facial skin. Fat is most often used to fill in "sunken" cheeks or laugh lines between the nose and mouth, to correct skin depressions or indentations, to minimize forehead wrinkles and to enhance the lips. Results tend to be permanent, but typically only 40% of the fat survives.

Restylane Injections

Restylane is a crystal-clear, non-animal, biodegradable gel based on a natural substance, called hyaluronic acid. The gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The result is instantaneous and produces a long-lasting, natural enhancement, gentle and safe to your skin. Results can endure for 6-9 months.

SurgiWire

The SurgiWire incisionless dissector quickly releases deep lines and scars by separating connections to underlying tissues. It enables a physician to treat patients that were not candidates for fillers alone by addressing the underlying problem first with a SurgiWire Release. Typical areas addressed include the glabella (wrinkles between eyebrows), naso-labial fold (deep crease to the side of the nose extending to corner of mouth), and scars or forehead wrinkles.
