Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty, or eyelid tucks, are very common in patients over 40. This is a procedure to remove fat, along with excess skin, from the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery can correct drooping upper lids and the puffy bags under the eyes – features that make you look older and more tired than you feel. The effect is to give the eyes a more rested, youthful look with a brighter appearance.

Blepharoplasty can be performed on the upper lids, lower lids or both and can also be performed in conjunction with other facial procedures. The patient on the right has had a laser blepharoplasty, which is a procedure using a laser to resurface and tighten the skin of the upper and lower eyelids. The incision to remove fat is placed inside the lid to minimize scarring and post-operative lid droop.

*Plastic surgery results can vary from patient to patient and are not guaranteed.
